Well, it's certainly different to the Black Eyed Peas original...

She's obviously taking the piss. I think Alanis needs to be going back into obscurity. She looks like a total ejit.

I think it's pure genius.

OK it's a cover tune so nothing original there, but the way I see it she could have covered anything or more so something more in her style or released new original material...

But no, she has the genius to take something like this & make it not only her own (in an artistic fashion) but pull it off in such a way to raise debate of both the critics of her work & that of the Black Eyed Peas.

I can't say I like her 'normal' output, nothing I'd listen to out of choice when alone... however, this tune has made it into my playlist.

:)

She's weird in my opinion. I don't understand what she's saying most of the time... lol

Her lyrics do have a certain yoda-like quality... mixed with a dash of teenage angst (which she should've grown out of by now).

Having listened to it a second time now ... it is rather sad ... the tune, the interpretation ... it really accentuates the ridiculousness of the lyrics and the genre in general. ... though I do like the original to dance to ... gawd help me ...

 I do too and it's great to work out too also!

However, I do understand the lyrics more now that she has done it! :o
