Thanks for posting this. I am surprised she never really mentioneed h her mother before.

I have a hunch that they never really intended for Jane to be a long-term character, but with so many others leaving, they're starting to expand her role....... anyway, just my 2 cents worth (or make that 2p!)

That's probably very true. Maybe they had a stormy relationship or aren't that close?

Matt Lucas to appeare in Kath and Kim
Author: faceless :: Posted: Mon Oct 30, 2006 1:19 pm
Matt Lucas has landed a role in Australian sitcom Kath And Kim.
He has already made contact with the show?s creators Jane Turner and Gina Riley, who have promised him a part. He told The Sun: ?I don?t know what I?ll be doing yet. There was some possible suggestion that I would play a member of their family, an English cousin or something. I can?t wait. It?s going to be very exciting.?

Lucas, who says he?s a huge fan of the show, will film his scenes when Little Britain tours Australia in January. Executive producer Rick McKenna told Melbourne?s Herald Sun: ?We met Matt through a good friend and he jokingly said he'd love to be in the show. Gina and Jane wrote to him and asked if he was fair dinkum and he said he was.?

Kath And Kim, which airs on Living TV and BBC Two in Britain, has previously attracted Kylie Minogue as a guest star. The show is currently at the centre of a bidding war between Australian broadcasters Seven and Ten after a deal with the publicly-funded ABC expired.

good stuff - Kath and Kimk never really took off here...

Video The Vote

Still, as the old saying goes, if voting actually changed anything they'd abolish it.

I've never heard that saying before, but I have to stand up and give a big "AMEN" to it -- sad but true.

The video was not an exaggeration, at least from my personal experience.

I remember waiting in a very long line to vote in the 2004 elections - and I went at an "off-period": 10:30 a.m. If my recollections are correct, 2004 had one of the biggest voter turnouts in U.S. history.

Problem is, there are people working 3rd shifts and night shifts, so they can't get to the polls until later in the day. If any lesson were to be learned from 2004, I would expect (1) that more voting machines will be available, and (2) because yet another large voter turnout is predicted.

Still, I'm looking forward to the US elections on 7 November 06 to see how the voting public feel. In other words, are we going to "stay the...

Well, I'm glad of the advice. Thanks doc!

Face - my guess....you have good eyes, without need for corrective lenses or surgery? Cool And I bet you look cool in sunglasses, too.

Right girls, I'm going to make myself an appointment to see if I'm suitable, maybe even a few appointments to see how they compare.

Thanks so much - you've alleviated my fears. Smile

As I said I'm not a doc, but I've worked for an ophthalmologist who also did consults for lasik. We had to learn as much as possible by going to seminars to enable us to answer pre-op and post-op questions that patients might have. I've also had it done and anyone that has and it's successful can pretty much tell you what it's all about.

Good luck.

Thanks Irish. Very Happy

X FACTOR SIMON IN 3 NEW SHOWS
EXCLUSIVE
By Ben Todd

SIMON Cowell is preparing for a TV takeover next year ...with THREE new prime-time shows to run alongside X Factor. The TV mogul, 47, will announce the shows in the next few weeks. But in an exclusive Sunday Mirror interview, he revealed one of them will be Britain's Got Talent - a home-grown version of his US hit America's Got Talent, with Simon appearing as a judge alongside ex-newspaper editor Piers Morgan. Another of the new series, which Simon won't name, will see him challenging an established BBC show.

Simon, now worth around ?60million, said: "We're going to announce three new shows for next year in Britain. I can't say any more because I haven't signed the contract yet and I'm doing one of them to compete with another big brand so I need to keep quiet about it. But we're going to do Britain's Got Talent on ITV. That's definitely coming."

The American show has already made Piers Morgan a star across the Atlantic. Simon revealed: "I sent him a text when the US ratings came in saying that...
