In extreme cases like this, can't the judge set aside the verdict, saying (in essence) the jury didn't follow the law?

I thought the "she was asking for it" defence argument was all but dead.

Now that would be good to watch. I know that they did try to set up a show for Phil over here but I don't think he really had the energy anymore for that type of schedule so it never went far.

George has had a good discussion on this tonight, linked it in with the South London shooting tradgedy. He pointed out that us and the USA, the most rapaciously capitalist developed countries, are also the worst developed countries in which to raise a child.
