homepage no longer the homepage...

After a few years of having the homepage as the first page that new visitors arrive at when they go to couchtripper.com, it's now been changed to go straight to the forum. The reason is that the homepage was sometimes taking up to 10 seconds to appear, and that had to be turning off a lot of visitors.

Wow. What an eye-opener. I'm in the wrong business and it's so easy to change... shhh

This is a very important issue, but maybe it was kinda irresponsible to show it in this way, especially before the laws change (if they ever do!). It almost makes it seem an attractive option for morally irrepressible people to earn a quick and easy buck, especially if they have a little financial backing to set up some sizable orders.

A British man who posted a message on Facebook threatening to kill 200 US schoolchildren, has been jailed for over two years. Reece Elliott caused a major security scare in the Tennessee area after posting abusive messages on two tribute pages set up for two US teenagers who had died in road accidents. When challenged about the posts, the 24-year-old sent threatening messages to two teenage girls, telling one of them: "You have been chosen tomorrow at school to receive one of my bullets."

Schools in Warren County, Tennessee subsequently went into lockdown after Elliott posted threats to kill 200 children. Almost 3,000 pupils missed school the day after the postings were made.

The father-of-one was today sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court after admitting one count of making a threat to kill and eight of sending grossly offensive messages. He had been held in custody since his arrest in February after he sparked...

Barbara Windsor returns to EastEnders
9 July 2013

Barbara Windsor is set to return to EastEnders for a special one-off episode later this year. Windsor, 75, has always said she would relish a return to playing landlady Peggy Mitchell, and said the public wanted her back as well.

Windsor, who left the show in 2010 after playing Peggy for 16 years, said: ‘It is no secret how much I have always loved EastEnders and Peggy Mitchell. By the number of times I'm constantly stopped by the great British public and asked either "when are you coming back" or please say "Get out of my pub", it seems they have too. It may only be a short visit, but it’s a family matter and as Peggy always said "It's all about family”.’

Peggy returns to Albert Square when she learns that Phil, her eldest, needs his mother’s help and always putting her family first, Peggy returns to the place she called home for 16 years.

Barbara Windsor has played a huge part in some of EastEnders most memorable moments. These have included Peggy’s battle with breast cancer, her marriages to...
