Gavin and Stacey

Post by Skylace »

I have started watching the comedy "Gavin and Stacey" on BBCA. I am really enjoying it. It's cute and quirky at the same time and has some really well placed jokes. It was even funnier tonight and seeing Gavin's dad Mick, who is played by Larry Lamb (Archie from Eastenders) being someone totally different.

If you haven't caught this show you need to. And of course Ruth Jones does a great job as always.

Thanks Sky. Can you tell me what days and/or what time it comes on? I'll try to catch it the next time it comes on. :-)

It's on Tuesdays at 8:40 EST :) Of course, being BBCA they rerun it like mad but that's for new episodes.

It sounds somewhat familiar...what is the story line, Sky?

I just started watching this too...it's great! I love the two guys who play Gavin & Smithy. And I love Stacey's accent. Ooohhh...and isn't Nessa just fab!

Thanks for the tip-off, Sky.

They're not playing it on BBC-Canada :( Guess I'll have to wait.

It's the story of a young couple who meet up and how relationships are actually easy but when you get your friends and family involved is when it goes all wonky. It's been too funny. When Stacey met Gavin's parents I was laughing out loud.

Nessa is so wonderful! Such a brilliantly written character. Of course, that's Ruth Jones who also co-created and wrote the show. Looks like she gave herself one of the best bits!

Sky...are you able to cap this? I might be able to - may just need a little help. I know I can record TV on my desktop computer - just not sure how to get it onto Humyo.

Thanks for posting that eefan. It was a fun read. Not sure how I feel about a remake on US Television. But I guess if I like the office I can like it. My only question is what different states will the choose? Or will it be one is from the northern part of the state and the other from the southern? Hmmm...
