We used to go to North Berwick for family holidays as kids, so while it's great to see they've done this to restore the view from afar, but there was always something special about touching the actual jaw bone of the whale. The 'Law' itself is a 612ft hill like a pimple on otherwise completely flat land.
Nice one. I went up there only a few years ago for the first time in probably 25 years and I was really annoyed that it took a fraction of the time to walk up it than when I was 12.
That was pretty interesting, Face. I have to admit, I was pretty confused by the title of this thread and really had no idea what it was going to be about. I am glad that the residents of North Berwick are pleased with it.
I think it was originally from a whale that had washed up on the shore - and someone thought that it would be a good idea to put it up on the hill. I'm sure there was a pub, some ale, and a painful realisation in the morning involved.
