Phil Mitchell gets his arm broken

'EastEnders' star Steve McFadden has been forced to undergo emergency surgery following an accident on set. According to the BBC, the 49-year-old actor, who plays Phil Mitchell in the soap, hurt his hand when he fell down a stairs on set. The report says that McFadden received 30 stitches and had to have pins placed in his bones after the fall.

The actor missed two days of filming because of the accident but has now returned to the set with his arm in a splint.

30 stitches is pretty bad! I'm guessing that must have been because of the surgery rather than the injury itself?

I guess he couldn't see his feet under his big stomach while he was going down the stairs. Still, I wish him a speedy recovery.

I'm guessing that depending on how he fell, if he caught the edge of the stairs or railing, he could have quite a tear. And goodness knows what's on those stairs at the Queen Vic

Hope he got a Tetanus shot as well.

Poor Phil...hope he doesn't end up back on the sauce for a pain killer...that would really be boring.
