I reckon the only way to challenge the kind of idiotic jobsworth cop that would do this is to refuse point-blank to cooperate. Pushing a cop like that is always entertaining and his/her sergeant would know that any further attempt to charge would leave them looking like idiots in court, so it would never go further. Fact is, if people don't refuse to cooperate then this type of infringement will be accepted in the longer-term. Paedophiles and terrorists my arse!

And what kind of criminal would be using a large camera if they were planning something when there are tiny pinhole cameras available which nobody would see?

That does seem like madness to me. I suspect it might be more about coppers with massive egos than actual failing policy, because there's definitely not a lack of arrogant police officers in this country.

I understand the need for fines if you get on a train that you don't have a ticket for, but the fine 115 quid?? We did it by accident in Italy and it was an 8 Euro fine per person...we laughed about it, but I don't think I would be laughing if the fine had been $230!!

I fell sleep once, after having had half a bottle of champagne with a very empty stomach. I woke up 40 minutes away from my destination, having passed 5 extra stops, I woke up, got out the next stop and got on the next train back to Brussels.

On the way back, I was asked for my ticket. I explained the situation, and would you believe it? the guy said no problem, but don't fall sleep again now.

I think this guy from virgin trains just happened to be an arsehole or had a bad day.

I don't think there are many trais staffs like that.

I'd love to hear if the manager ended up getting shitcanned. He certainly deserved to. I understand in Denmark there is supposedly a large 600 kroner fine if you get caught on the train without a proper ticket. I thought that was so stupid considering their train system is a bit confusing. On Long Island, I used to hop on without a ticket all the time. I'd just buy my ticket when the conductor came around to punch the tickets. It cost a little bit more, but one is not penalized with a fine.

lol, just one vodka and club soda....but that was like 20 minutes ago and I cannot have anymore. It was a double with lime. I mever thought I would love any sauce that is clear.

Russian train conductor throws passenger off at 70 kph

ROSTOV-ON-DON, October 22 (RIA Novosti) - A train conductor in the south of Russia has been charged with throwing a ticketless passenger off a train while it was travelling at over 70 km/h.

The man was hospitalized with multiple fractures and head injuries.

The train, heading from the southern Russian resort of Adler to Russia's second city of St. Petersburg, was in the Rostov Region when the incident occurred. According to authorities, the conductor had earlier taken the passenger on board without a ticket, started drinking with him, and then after an argument decided to forcibly eject him from the carriage.

"The train was moving at 74 km/h [46 mph] when the passenger fell out of the train," prosecutors said, adding that he "could have died." The incident took place on October 5, but charges have only just been filed. The conductor has admitted his guilt and is now out on bail awaiting trial.
