new UK coins revealed

Post by faceless »

Here's the designs for the new British coins. Nice that they still keep the Irish harp in the main coat-of-arms on the pound coin!

This will piss off magicians who do coin magic - they'll have to buy a whole new bunch of props! They look quite nice, though.

 We've got one and two dollar coins, and there's talk of a five dollar one. There's also a bill tabled in Parliament right now to abolish the penny. So my change purse is either going to get a lot heavier, or a lot lighter!

Not so much related to this. But make sure you all check your 2p coins and see if you have one that is from 1983 and has "New Pence" written on the reverse side. They're worth some money!

When will they be coming out? I'll be going to England in May for one day.

I think they're out now - you can buy the collector's sets at least.
