Severe flood warnings have been issued for the Devon and Cornwall coast amid storm warnings for most of the UK.
In what could prove to be winter's worst storm, heavy rain and winds of almost 80mph (130km/h) have started to hit Wales and south-west England.
Emergency services said trees had been uprooted and power lines brought down in the South West. In Wales, 170 people were told to evacuate a caravan park.
The Met Office also forecasts blizzards and heavy snow for central Scotland.

anyways face Chin Up ...
I remember being stuck in a snowed under Philly Airport around Nov/Dec 1994 .. and I thought that was bad .. clearly not as bad as now.
Aja, that weather must have missed us. We did get some nasty sleet here but from what I can tell no where near as bad as our surrounding area. Hope it gets better soon. I am ready for some spring.
one of my housemates just phoned, he got hit today by a falling sign off the front of a shop! a big metal sign for jessops - says its mashed up his arm quite bad! lucky really though it didn't hit his head - that could have caused some serious damage .... i reckon he should sue! or at least try and blag a free camera ( jessops is a camera shop )
yeah i don't really think he could sue, we was thinking american! but a camera or something shouldn't be too out of order i reckon
what was strange, or maybe not nowadays unfortunately, is no one stopped to ask if he was alright! if you saw something like that you'd think instinctively you'd ask - you alright mate? everyones on their own mission now ... to busy to care
that's more London than anything I reckon - when I crashed my bike last week there was at least 4-5 people who stopped to help. Same the day before when this junkie guy got his foot run over by a bus. It might be always grey and raining, but people look out for each other.
funny you say that ... i've been thinking the last few days of moving away from london - i kinda fancy living near the sea, somewhere with cheaper rent ( rent around here is crazy ) - but i do love so many aspects of london, if i moved i think i'd miss it ... maybe i'll start a thread on it
