Here's your chance to get in about the production and actually make a difference. Of course, what they don't mention is the massive level of nepotism and back-scratching that's involved in the application process.
EE: Want a job making the show?
ROTFLMAO....
Kind of thing I did for many years in the industry....
Pretty much "Have the balls will get the job" kinda' specs if you ask me...
I blagged my way in to many a job on TV shows & movie sets...
(Including EE etc)
I do see where Faceless says nepotism.. I saw a lot of that in the industry, but, even if your uncle, father etc was a head of department, you could be given a job before them if you knew what to say or who to mention...

So, there must be quite a few shows that have your name in the credits?6ULDV8 wrote:ROTFLMAO....

As far as knowing what to say or who to mention is concerned - that's exactly what has kept at least two friends of mine from getting much work (as cameramen) in the BBC. They both now work for setanta for better money and less shite though, so it's worked out fine...

Indeed, the way it was back then (when I was working in the industry) was if your name ended up on the scripts it ended up on screen too...faceless wrote:So, there must be quite a few shows that have your name in the credits?
I had a nice collection of scripts from Hat-Trick, Drop the dead donkey, HIGNFY, WLIIA etc... I was credited quite often dependant on the job / jobs I undertook.
Scripts are now long gone, my ex-G/F had them stored for a while for me but ended up throwing them away (pre-Ebay days else she'd have prob sold em).
I think 'Production Staff' was the most used title I was credited with, but also had credits for sound, lighting, camera, props...
Production staff being a catch all term, even when standing in as stage managment or location manager etc.

here's another - it looks like it would be a lot more interesting for a fan of the show. Or possibly a terrorist cell who wanted to infiltrate British culture and then start to change things from within! haha
