I was so happy to hear this. If he had any honour, he would agree not to askl for the £500 back.
Actually, I assume he did NOT ask for the money back, since he said he was "punished". If he had asked for it back, he would have got the money back immediately from the bank under the Direct Debit guarantee system.

Actually, that's the spin the bank would have probably said to get out of paying it back :
He was negligent with his account details .. and effectively encouraged the fraud.
I suppose the charity would have handed back the money if asked (since it is stolen property) .. but again the PR cost to clarkson would be too high.
