GEMMA TO THE RESCUE

EASTENDERS bosses have a sizzling new weapon in their ratings war with Coronation Street – soap siren Gemma Bissix. The gorgeous blonde will sex up the Square when she explodes on to our screens this week, back in the role she left more than eight years ago as Clare Tyler. But it's not the same sweet and innocent Clare fans remember from 1999; this time she's a man-eating bitch, determined to turn Walford upside down.
Gorgeous Gemma, 24, quit her role in Hollyoaks last year and EastEnders bosses are tipping her to be a ratings winner. Gemma admits she's amazed she's been asked to return.
"It's a good move for me and something I didn't think would happen," she says. 'I'm going back for nine months and then we are going to see what happens. All I have been told is that Clare is going to live with Dot Branning and she's going to be more than a handful.'
The scantily-clad babe will make a stunning entrance on Friday. Fans will see her crash-land in Walford when she is pushed out of a moving car and practically falls out of her kit. And she will cause a storm with the locals as she decides to move back for good. 'She's definitely a lot different from the last time we saw her,' said a show insider. That was when Clare left Walford with stepdad Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley, 52) after mum Debbie died in a car crash.
'She's no longer the cute little girl, she's a feisty minx who stops at nothing to get what she wants. And she knows how to use her sexy curves to get what she wants with the fellas.' First on her hit list is Ian Beale when she discovers he's loaded and then she goes after Jack Branning. There's nothing this woman won't do to get what she's after.'
Gemma has become a real expert in playing a soap bitch. In Hollyoaks, she was Clare Cunningham, who tried to murder her husband and kidnapped her stepson.
