EE: Murray to take on Mike Reid's ITV role?

Former EastEnders star Billy Murray is expected to take over from late actor Mike Reid in an ITV drama pilot.

Reid, best known for his role as Walford's Frank Butcher, had started filming for Filthy Rich before he suffered a fatal heart attack last month.

Mike had signed up to play a police officer who finds himself suspected of murdering his daughter's delinquent boyfriend. He had filmed 30 minutes of the episode, and was due to complete work on it in September.

According to The Sun today, Murray, who played villain Johnny Allen, will now take on the role instead.
