Scene ... Steve came to blows at this British Legion club in Falmouth
Enders' Steve is beaten up

EASTENDERS hardman Steve McFadden looked so bad after a beating in a boozer that bosses would not let him work, The Sun can reveal. The star — burly Phil Mitchell in the show — was left bloodied and bruised after a fellow drinker floored him. Producers wrote him out of scenes, and delayed others at a cost of thousands of pounds, because he looked so bad. He had to wait for the swelling and bruising to go down before returning to work.

A source said: “We heard Steve was in a bad way and had to cancel all his scenes — it’s the talk of the set. Any time a big star is off it throws things off kilter.”

Steve, 48, and the other drinker went outside after “exchanging barbs” in the British Legion in Falmouth, Cornwall. An onlooker said: “Steve walked away with a massive shiner complaining that his eye socket was broken.” Two off-duty cops are thought to have seen the July 29 row but it is not known if police will be investigating further.

An EastEnders spokeswoman said last night: “This is a personal matter.” Steve was yesterday back on the BBC1 soap’s set in Elstree, Herts.

This happened after 'exchanging barbs'? Maybe he should take up trading pokemon cards instead...

 Good one Face.

It sounds to me he ain't as hard as he think he is or maybe he thought he could channel the spirit of Phil. Either way I am glad he wasn't seriously injured.

 Too funny, Face!

I'm trying not to read too much into the "exchanging barbs" bit. I think most people will think that he was pulling the "I'm Phil Mitchell on tv" thing, but it could have just as easily have been someone showing off, trying to get one over on "Phil Mitchell".

Either way, I'm glad he's back to work.

Ahhhh, the sweet smell of deep-fried nonsense.

This reminds me of that time I met a Bond Girl. She was all over me before I had to push her off with the words 'Halle, but I care about someone else!'
