Why do so many people talk about EE?

Post by alan1254 »

I always find it strange that on just about any UK torrent , tv , soap site you go to people are talking about EE, Corrie doesnt get much of a mention which seems odd as corrie has so many more viewers than EE nearly 3 times as many recently, but EE is a far more popular topic of conversation , why?

I don't know. We just like to talk about it.
I don't watch Corrie, so I can't answer that.

I'd have to agree with what Sky has said..... I don't really watch Corrie, so it's hard to understand why. Maybe perhaps that because EE what such a big deal when it first came out and many people got on the bandwagon and it's never stopped? My guess is that Corrie's average audience is older than EE's therefore not on the computer as much, etc. But it's just a guess.

I think the reason why there's less talk about Corrie is because there's , wait for it, less to complain about! There's always good stories and you know you're not going to be too disappointed most of the time.

Having no exposure at all to Corrie, I can't offer an opinion. Can anyone tell me if Corrie is broadcast internationally as is EastEnders?

I think it's broadcast in Canada and Australia, but I'm not certain.

First off, I enjoy both Corrie and EE. I watched both when I lived in the UK. But, upon returning to the US, no more Corrie.

I think that the difference on many sites is that EE is (or was) shown on U.S. public television (PBS) since it was created. To my knowledge, Corrie never has been broadcast in the US market.

The huge UK torrent site you're referring to was created, in part, due to demand for EE from US fans (and ex-pats living in the US) who lost access to current episodes when B B C America pulled EE from its schedule. If you check the most downloaded torrents, EE is always in the top 10.

Corrie is broadcast here in Canada several times a week, and from what I understand, it's only a few months behind, whereas EE is 22 months behind. Perhaps we talk so much trying to catch up!

think I like face's opinion the best but there may be some truth to the idea that corrie fans may be older as the show is now heading towards 50 years on air, I used to like EE but its endless depressing storylines are a real turn off for me. I dont think it has been shown in the US when I lived there I watched it on a big dish from the Canadian stations, EE was showing on bbc prime in Asia up till 4 or 5 months ago but it was dropped because it had low ratings, pbs in the US dropped it for the same reason, but I guess we can all find it and corrie now, those who have seen EE but not corrie might want to check it out it is a pretty different slant on UK life.

Some PBS stations still show it. PBS isn't universal across the States. I have friends who still get it on PBS and I have others who have never gotten it there. It just depends on what that specific PBS purchases.
