Hi i'm the latest member of the group I am from Manchester but havn't lived in the Uk for 18 years my wife is also from Manchester we currently live in Thailand where we have been for a year, there's nothing on Tv here so we watch only Brit TV looking forward to chatting as this seems a good natured group thanks to admin for sorting this out for me.
Hi Alan - saw a few posts from you, and wondered who you were. Welcome to The Couch. It's a great place, and very friendly (with the occasional heated debate, of course!).
I used to work in Manchester, for about 10 years, so I know it fairly well, or should I say I did. I went back about 4 years ago and it's changed, esp since the bomb in the Arndale. Even the canal area is changing down the bottom of Deansgate.
Anyway, have fun here.

I saw you were heavily into the Asian tv/movie stuff wondered how that came about? Thailand is great its not that difficult to adapt once you get over the shock (especialy if your a guy living in in town known as the sex capital of the world) but we have both come to like it here very much the people are just wonderful, your average Thai partically the women are just so pleasant thats proberbly the real culture shock that people are nice to each other and patient and polite not at all like the west. Weve lived in several counties including the states for 9 years NY is my favorite city in the world so your lucky to live there , thanks for the 'hello'pirtybirdy wrote:Welcome Alan! This is a great group here, and we are all looking forward to hearing your two cents on some of our topics. How is it in Thailand? I am so hooked on Asian Dramas. Must be some adjustment living there, huh? Very interesting. Good luck to you and your Mrs.
