A man who bashed and raped two overseas tourists at Broome in Western Australia's Kimberley region has been sentenced to 12 years in jail.
Thirty-two-year-old David Gundari from Kununurra assaulted two women, one from France and the other from Japan, in separate attacks last September.
He dragged the women to secluded parts of the old Broome area, bashed them and then raped them.
One victim suffered a fractured jaw, eye socket and cheek bone and the other victim had three teeth knocked out.
Judge Antoinette Kennedy said the attacks were extremely violent and Gundari posed a significant risk to the community.
The court was also told Gundari had brought shame on his family and faced being speared in the leg as a form of tribal punishment when he is released from jail.

Any man who bashes women, let alone rapes them needs a bit more than a spear in the leg or even the chest if you ask me.girldorksrule wrote:They need to spear him in the chest...and leave the spear for all to see.
A 12 year sentance, he will prob' do about 5 years of it, lets just hope he gets to switch Cells & Cell mates on a monthly basis & all his cell mates like to play mummies & daddies where this fucker is always stuck in the roll of mummy
