robert newman - history of oil

Robert Newman gets to grips with the wars and politics of the last hundred years - but rather than adhering to the history we were fed at ... all » school, the places oil centre stage as the cause of all commotion. This innovative history programme is based around Robert Newman's stand-up act and supported by resourceful archive sequences and stills with satirical impersonations of historical figures from Mayan priests to Archduke Ferdinand. Quirky details such as a bicycle powered street lamp on the stage brings home the pertinent question of just how we are going to survive when the world's oil supplies are finally exhausted.

if they're under 300mb then you could upload them to Sendspace - it's a lot less hassle than torrents...

Yes please, Luke! I really enjoyed the oil one - does anyone know how to download from Google Video because I'd like to save that programme and watch it again sometime?

i'll see what i can do kate :)

google video, i think the only way you can do it is by downloading the ipod version, which then downloads a .mov version - which isn't so bad for stuff like this as your mainly interested in the audio

If you want to download any thing from google video, click on download bottom on the right side of the video, then you are asked to download the Google video player first , before doing so, on the same page read the FAQ part on how to save on your pc, every thing is clearly explained there. Good luck

Kate] there's also an extension for Firefox called VideoDownloader which lets you save videos from GoogleVideo or YouTube (maybe more). The down side with YouTube is that they're saved as .flv files, which you can't play without the codec.

I have the K-Lite codec pack (full) installed, and rarely have problems playing videos from the 'net. (www.codecguide.com)
