Awards snub for Eastenders

AWARDS SNUB FOR EASTENDERS
27/02/2007

PEGGY Mitchell and Co were left fuming last night after EastEnders was sensationally snubbed for a top TV accolade. The BBC drama is not even in the running for next month's Royal Television Society best soap award. Instead ITV1 will have a clear run after Emmerdale, Coronation Street and The Bill were all nominated.

An Albert Square insider admitted: "It's a bit disappointing."

I'm not surprised really - but more surprised to see The Bill in there instead.

It hasn't exactly been a stellar year for EE, so I'm not surprised myself. Let's hope this year is better storyline wise.

They need to get new writers, amd get rid of boring characters, I'd suggest losing Ben, Stella, May, Rob & Max for starters

I'm not a fan of Stella, either. She and Phil's pairing make no sense whatsoever to me.

I'll agree on all those choices but especially Stella.... she kind of creeps me out.

Ooooooooo! I say! (read Dot's voice here!). I hadn't thought of that.... hurting him maybe, but not killing. This could be an interesting year indeed.

Couldn't agree more Cori. Also, on my list of forgettables is Denise. If she ever truly smiled I think her face would actually crack.
