EASTENDERS' longest resident Dot Branning is about to become the world's oldest new MUM.
The chain-smoking laundrette worker, played by 80-YEAR-OLD June Brown, is to adopt a baby from abroad.
And that means she'll be following the real-life footsteps of superstars such as Angelina Jolie, 31, and Madonna, 48.
East Enders will show Dot getting all motherly in a new storyline to be screened within the next six weeks.
A soap insider said: "We can confirm it is true. Dot is going to become a mum and adopt a baby from overseas.
"We are all very excited about the storyline.
"The scenes were filmed in Canterbury, Kent a few weeks ago. June celebrated her birthday on Friday and she told us she is really excited about her character's new challenge.
"Dot's always loved kids and reckons that having a baby to look after is just the thing to keep her young."
