"Happy Slapping" is not a term really used here in the States, nor have I really heard about it much. Actually, what is very popular with teens right now in America is the "choking game". This "happy slapping" sounds terrible and some of the news reports I read tied to it are dreadful. Of all the characters on the show to be subjected to this, it's poor Dot. After one attack in the home, now this.
Dot does seem a likely target for this kind of thing. And after the way Pauline has been acting, I'd say she'd be a likely target if she weren't dead. will be interesting to see them tackle this kind of issue though.... for some reason, I suspect that Max and Tanya's oldest daughter is going to be one of the kids doing it.
It's pretty nasty - my policewoman friend told me about it when I went back to the UK last year. She said for those they've caught they give them ASBOs. However, apparently even that is becoming something of a "let's see how many ASBOs we can get!"
