The world's tallest man has come to the rescue of two dying dolphins in China. The animals were choking after discarded plastic became stuck in their throats. Medics tried unsuccessfully to get hold of the plastic using surgical instruments but they couldn't get a grip, according to the official Xinhua news agency. In desperation they called Bao Xishun, a 7ft-9in herdsman listed by Guinness World Records as the tallest living man.

He was summoned from the nearby region of Inner Mongolia and a bizarre operation was undertaken in front of local television cameras. A dozen men held the dolphins down while Bao reached a huge 3ft-6in-long arm down their throats to grab the plastic and pull it free. The dolphins are now said to be recovering well.

Bao, 55, reached his height in a seven-year growth spurt that began in his teens and which doctors cannot explain. After a career in the army, when he was recruited for the basketball team, he returned to Inner Mongolia where he hires himself out for publicity stunts in addition to herding livestock.

I saw this on the news and was really pleased to see this. When it comes to China and any living creatures other than humans, they usually have them on their dinner plates, so it's nice to see for once they actually cared for the creatures well being.

Actually, they don't have respect for humans either as they execute prisoners so they can sell their organs to people from other countries for big bucks.....and take the organs without the consent of the prisoners.

Anyway regarding the original story....good on the guy.
