Kinvig
Des Kinvig is a lazy electrical repairman stuck with a failing business and trapped in a boring marriage. His only friend, Jim, is an unemployed UFO spotter and conspiracy theorist who believes aliens are here on earth but the government keeps their existence hidden from the public. One night, while taking his dog for a walk, Des chances upon something amazing. But is it real...or just a fantasy?
Written by Nigel Kneale (Quatermass, The Stone Tape, The Lady in Black), this episode was broadcast only once by London Weekend Television on September 4, 1981. 'Kinvig' was created by Kneale to make fun of the obsessive geeks who take science fiction and bizarre conspiracy theories far too seriously. Starring Tony Haygarth, Patsy Rowlands, Colin Jeavons and Prunella Gee.
I've not heard of this before, but it sounds quite funny.
