It is not always a get-out trick. I do not know that it is even sometimes. In fact, I teach using the Socratic method all the time.
I am sure there are those people who abuse this way of teaching or getting down to the bottom of a topic....but in no way do I see it corrupt. And if I did, I would not be teaching childern that way. Perhaps they all learn by means of corruption when I use the Socratic method?
