With the world up in arms about killing a fetus & such things as frozen sperm, frozen eggs etc...
Surely this would be seen worse than say "The morning after pill"?
(The wife wonders if they can add some 'falvoring' to it also as the idea of dead sperm & cells don't sound tasty). |
According to some, taking the female birth control pill isn't ethical. So this could be debated forever.
I find it perfectly ethical. Unused sperm dies anyway and is absorbed back into the body. Since men are constantly producing them and there is no way they can ever use them all (unlike women who have a set number, that it and once you're done, you're done) I wouldn't see it as unethical at all. |
Well, from what I understand (and think) this is ethical since you are preventing a conception.... no real "life" being killed off.
There is some debate regarding the emergency contraceptive pill since it's not known exactly how it works. It can work in one of a few ways:
1. May prevent or slow ovulation so that the egg isn't released
2. May slow the movement of the sperm so that it doesn't fertilize the egg.
3. May prevent an already fertilized ovum from implanting in the uterus so that an actual pregnancy isn't achieved.
I guess it comes down to what you consider "conception"..... some consider it when the sperm and egg meet and some consider it when it implants into the uterus. |
