thanks faceless nice one
it was good but not really long enough, they didn't really have time to get into it in any depth - finkelstein a few times tried to talk about real examples but never really got the chance, i mean at the end you didn't really come away with anything new or an understanding of how the lobby actually works based on any evidence - or if not down to the lobbys influence, how come the coverage we're given is so biased?
i guess you'd need a whole weekend for the kinda show i'm thinking
did the debate change anyones views in any way? |

| The point about the EU following the line of the US in isolating the Palestinian authorities was interesting, as there is no ostensibly strong lobby influence in Europe.. |

With poodles like Blair following Bush, who needs another lobby in Europe. |

Sometimes feels like Good Cop / Bad Cop act.
Seeing how Nato is in Afghanistan now, allowing the US to increase its involvement in Iraq, they are playing "follow my leader" |

For Finkelstein fans, DemocracyNow! ran a good 30 min. discussion of his tenure battles--
https://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=07/05/09/1514221
| Quote: | RAUL HILBERG: And it was clear to me already years ago that some campaigns were launched -- from what sector, I didn't know -- to remove him from the academic world. Years ago, I got a phone call from someone who was in charge of a survivors' group in California who told me that Finkelstein had been ousted from a job in New York City at a university -- actually, a college there -- and this was done under pressure.
...
And whether he’s being intimidated, whether he is in a situation where, whatever else may be happening, the employers are being intimidated, it’s hard for me to say, but there is very clearly a campaign, which was made very obvious in the Wall Street Journal, when Professor Dershowitz wrote in a style which is highly uncharacteristic of the editorial page of this newspaper. |

FYI, Ilan Pappe is talking at a Charity dinner in London on 17 May:
