Off to heckle my mp

Post by faceless »

I'm off to the monthly surgery held by mp in a bit. I've never even heard the guy's name before, but got some expensively produced crap through the door recently so checked his page on theyworkforyou and emailed his office to ask his reasons for voting strongly for the illegal wars and Trident.

His assistant wrote back that he wouldn't answer unless I gave my full name and postcode. I replied that if he didn't want to waste a few minutes explaining in an email that I would have to come along and waste his time in public. They didn't reply, so here I am - ready to tackle a lackie.

I'll report back later today - or in a few months when I'm released from jail!

go for it faceless!

i had the same shit with my mp here, wouldn't reply without knowing my details. i never had that trouble with my lib dem mp in london - he'd always reply ( although it could take him a while ). i even got replys from ann widdecombe - although she might as well have not bothered!

my mp here is a labour mp with a similar voting record to yours, for the war, against an inquiry, for trident, for id cards, etc etc

she won't reply to me at all now after i took her to task for her voting record and asked questions about things brown said about iran at the israeli knesset and a load of other subjects. she didn't even reply when i asked for help in getting correct information to dispel arguments from bnp types!

Good on ya, face -- let us know how it goes and if we need a whip-round to collect for a "Free Face Fund". 8)

well I'm just back and it was total damp squib - I'd not been to a 'surgery' before (why they call it that I've no idea) so didn't realise that it was all about individual cases and that he sees the people in private. I suppose that makes sense, but it's annoying.

I'll just have to nurture this bilious anger until I get the chance to do it in public... haha

Sorry to hear that face, I really liked that line from In The Loop about doing a surgery “Oh great, meeting my constituents. It's like being Simon Cowell but without the ability to say fuck off you're mental.”

If he thinks I'm mental to ask him why he's content that there's people lying dead and disabled because of his gung-ho support, then so be it...
