Revolutionary Guard assassination then as part of the tightening in Iranian society... Nice to see they tried to blame it on Israel, the west and the monarchists (?? as if there was ever a legitimate king).
Presumably an IED from the stock they keep sending to Iraq.

How can an IED be improvised if it's supposedly supplied by a huge army?

They're quite often made from artillery shells

But why would they supply weapons that needed to be modified? Also, what about the ordnance garnered from the Iran-Iraq war? Who controls that?

How do you know Iran supply Iraq with IED? Nevertheless you sound like a 'Green' carder.

I don't think they need much modification just a detonator in the end of the shell.

I don't know about the supply to Iraq, I would have thought there was plenty of shells left over from the first gulf war.

But if Britain or America supplied a group of terrorists (of course, that's never happened!) they would give them weapons that wouldn't need modification. They'd want to make sure the job was done. And Iran's not exactly a backward nation either...

I'd have thought if the Quds force within the RG was supplying militias in Iraq, giving them too high a grade explosive devices means its even more obvious that its them supplying them.

Same with the motorbike bomb taking out the green movement nuclear scientist.

But maybe thats just my paranoia :-)

By Green Carder, do you mean I want to be a citizen of the good old US of A?

No, it probably means you'd like Iran to be like the USA...

I think the important part of this story is that Iran is being accused of blowing up one of its most advanced nuclear professors. Why would they kill their own golden goose?

To preserve the current system of government?

I'm quite prepared to accept its a foreign power trying to scupper Iran's nuclear ambitions, but the fact the guy was a member of the green movement makes me a touch suspicious...

Yeah, but why blow him up? Why not just do a Dr David Kelly on him?
