the same thing happened to grooverider - it wasn't as small an amount as this guy ( 0.003g?! ), or on his shoe, and groove did like a smoke, but i think it was just a bit of dust they found in his pocket or bag - he got 4 years but was let out after 10 months in the end i think

another reason why i'm never going to dubai!

That's just taking the piss - cannabis isn't 'haram' in Islam while alcohol is, and they allow alcohol to be sold by the bucket.

I predict a terrorist attack there before long.

yeah i'm sure i read somewhere once that the prophet mohammed was cool with cannabis

1378: One of the first dissenting voices is heard when Ottoman Emir Soudoun Scheikhouni issues an edict against eating cannabis.

this ottoman emir soudoun scheikhouni had obviously not tried cannabis and blueberry muffins

Apparently you can also get a mandatory four-year sentence if traces of cannabis are found in your urine or blood, even if it was smoked *before* entering the country (wtf)

We nearly got a flight stopping in Abu Dhabi on the way back from honeymoon. That could have gone very wrong.

Dubai used to be the place where everyone planned their last stop over before hitting Saudi as everything was much more lax...seems things have changed in the 30 odd years since I was there. Glad I am not there now!
