Don't know how I missed this --- but you're right face :) I thought they had a bit of chemistry on screen, so maybe it goes back to this.

Funny, but this is one character from EE that I don't miss at all.

You're right! He was kind of cute but not very engaging as a character. Hope he does well for the rest of his career.

I agree, he was cute, for a real life Arsenal supporter, but his character was definately lacking and it's a shame, he could have been pivotal, especially after his dad died. He could have stepped up and helped Denise, but they wrote him wimpy...too bad.

Poor man! That is awful! I can't even imagine. The writers of EE couldn't have made it more miserable! Well, not without a murder!

From the new BBC sitcom The Persuasionists that has been completely panned by the critics and as much as cancelled (its last episode only got 176000 viewers). I thought it was quite funny!

I just added to the streaming tv section the first episode of 'Birdwatching With Bill Bailey'. It's a game show based on birdwatching. That's right....

Anyway, the first episode features Joe Swash and Kara Tointon, so you might want to see it.

EX EASTENDER RAPS BOSSES
Ex EastEnder Mo was thrown out of bash
28th February 2010
By Susan Hill[/align]
FORMER EastEnders star Mohammed George has lifted the lid on being booted out of the show’s anniversary party – in a second snub by the BBC. And last night the heartbroken actor said: “I didn’t deserve to be treated that way.”

The star, who says he was suicidal after his original sacking by the Beeb, was devastated when he was asked to leave the soap’s 25th anniversary party after just five minutes. It was the first time he had been back to the soap after he was forced out two years ago. But sadly for Mo, who played street sweeper Gus Smith for almost six years, he didn’t even get the chance to have one celebratory drink with his ex-cast mates. He said: “I had no choice but to leave... again.”

The 27-year-old dad-of-one was looking forward to catching up with old pals at the glitzy bash to mark the soap’s 25th anniversary at the studios in Elstree, Herts. But when he bumped into one of his ex-bosses she told him to leave after he asked her why she hadn’t supported him. He said: “She asked me how I was and, of course, I had to bring up everything that had happened.

“I hadn’t seen her for two years. But she just said, ‘If you’re going to bring this up then you’d better leave’. There was no shouting, no abusive language and no threatening behaviour. I couldn’t believe it. I’d just arrived at the party and had been really looking forward to catching up with everyone. I said, ‘Well when can we talk about this?’ and she said never.

“She said it’s better that I leave. During the conversation I was shaking people’s hands. I was smiling, I was happy. I didn’t deserve to be treated that way. Everyone was shocked when they found out what was going on. Sid Owen tried to convince me to come back inside but I knew I wasn’t wanted, so I decided to keep my dignity and just go.”

Before the party Mo had started to forgive his former bosses for turning their backs on him during one of the darkest periods of his life. He claims that although they’d helped a number of other stars battle drink and drug problems, he received absolutely no support for his depression.

He said: “It was like having a noose around my neck, I couldn’t breathe. I pleaded for help and broke down more than once but they did not want to help me. When I look back there were times I was so low I could have topped myself. I felt like I did not want to live. Depression is one of the worst things you can go through in life. I’ve seen them support so many people through drink and drug problems, so they could easily have supported me too.”

Mo’s life spiralled out of control when he was arrested on suspicion of attacking his then girlfriend Emma Archibald at the end of 2006. Emma dismissed the claims but he was later cautioned by police for tipping rubbish, which led to EastEnders suspending him for two months at the start of 2007. He returned to the soap but within a few months he had lost his job.

He added: “They said I’d be leaving by mutual agreement but, of course, it wasn’t really like that. Instead of supporting me, they believed the bad press I’d got after all that bother with Emma. They just sold me down the river. It’s been nearly two years since I left and I haven’t had one single acting job since. But I’m not going to give up.”

A BBC spokesman said: “Mo George was asked to leave the party as his behaviour was not appropriate for a party celebrating 25 years of the show. We take the duty of care we have for all our artists extremely seriously and work closely with any artists who may be facing difficult issues.”
