Corrie: Simon & Peter

Post by Twirley »

OMG, I am loving the scenes with Peter Barlow and his son Simon - that little lad is such a good actor and there's a real warmth between the two of them. I'm really glad that Peter came to his senses and is putting his son first. I think the writers have so much more scope with the characters this way.

That wee boy was in a 3 part drama series from last year starring Steve Coogan called 'Sunshine' (co written by Craig Cash of Royle Family fame). It's really worth watching if you can get it.

As for him on Corrie, I've quite enjoyed the way he can actually act - compared to 99% of kids in soaps he's like Laurence Olivier!

I'll look out for it. Thanks Face.

I know what you mean about other soap child actors. Amy & Josh in Corrie are hopeless...although there may be some light at the end of the tunnel with Amy. She wasn't bad in that scene with Becky the other day.

Well....who knew that Peter Barlow could be so evil?? The look on his face after he turned away from Nick after asking him to be his best man gave me chills....He has always been so nice. This is quite an acting challenge for him. Should be interesting to see where this goes...

So Peter might finally be heading back to the way he was when I first started watching. He finally thought of someone else other than himself. Amazing!

And like Phil and his drinking, a little boring. Like most drunks, Peter is ok when he is sober (as long as he isn't on his high horse, feeling slighted and shouting the odds at everyone making sure they know how put out he is), but terribly boring when drunk. I used to like Peter, but I am glad he is gone for a while.
