Why didn't one of the people around at the time offer to buy it for him? The great British public have no balls! As for Tesco - what an idiotic policy to have. It's definitely someting that could be tested by some hidden-camera pranks though - what uniforms are ok and which aren't?

So if I go in Tesco's in a clown uniform, they won't serve me? Silly...this guy could have been off duty and on his way home.

A clown would be good - or how about a priest? That would be worth a test too haha

Won't serve alcohol to people in uniform. What in the world is this meant to prevent? Off-duty officers picking up a six-pack on their way home?

If on-duty drinking is such a problem, how do inexplicable store policies help? Not that the police (for example) are good at policing themselves, but who give this duty to Tescos?

A priest would be an awesome test! I want to buy a priest's frock and a plane ticket right now!! Guess I would actually have to get a nun's habit, but, you get the idea...

Tesco's new slogan could be "Mangos to morality...You get it all at Tesco!!"

I thought of the priest as well. But his may be the only uniformed occupation with a legitimate reason to have wine on duty. A 40 of Jack Daniels, however, might raise eyebrows.
