I know the Cubans in Little Cuba Miami don't like Castro and always say the people are oppressed and what not. If the majority didn't want that government, they'd toss him out, it's as simple as that. As far as I'm concerned, if the people like their government, that's all that matters.
Like China?
I don't support dictators just because they happen to be socialist.

Like China, like any of them. If they like being oppressed, more power to them. A few members here think Cuba is a paradise. It probably once was. I say.....Go for it! Go live in wonderful Cuba...lol! Castro is a great guy! Those people drowning in those crap boats and rafts to leave the country don't know how great they got it, at least according to some folks around here. What can I say other than "whatever". I like where I am now thank you very much and my little stint in Denmark proves it. Where anyone else wants to be is of no concern of mine I suppose.
pirty, i don't think anyone has ever said cuba is a paradise. but for those of us who see the failings of capitalism - of raping the planet for profit - and as a report by the wwf on sustainable development states, cuba is the only country in the world following a path of “sustainable development” - and should be allowed to do that free of american interference.
a system that puts the lives of people above the value of the $ just seems a better way to me - but thats not to say cuba is a paradise.
The only people who were determined to leave Cuba were the self interested bastards who refused to work towards making their country better. Good riddance.
That proves little - it's one interpretation. Cuba is a third world country (because of American sanctions) and yet its people are highly educated and healthy - that's not Stalinism by any stretch of the imagination. It could be seen as Leninist at worst.
Stalinism = totalitarianism and Cuba is not run under a totalitarian system.
