Much of what was said about the masonic symbolism, etc. was true (and I've verified that) -- but as for some sadistic agenda that is "utter shit" as kate says. I certainly would understand that some would not agree or even understand this, but I married into a family of masons and can only say these underlying sadistic, horrible agendas just aren't true. Do masons connect and do business in secret? Yes. Do they have secret gestures/handshakes to identify each other? Yes. The reason they do this is so that they can recongnize someone of good moral character --- of course there are some people that don't embody the meaning of being a mason --- but that could happen in any sort of society or business. To suggest that there is something sinister implied in being a mason is, in my opinion, utter crap.
BTW, there is also tons of masonic symbolism in several Simpsons episodes, but is there some hidden agenda? I don't think so -- other than several writers on staff who are masons and want the audience out there to have a laugh.

I remember you saying to me that you hadn't had good experiences with Masonry --- and I'll admit there are bad ones in every bunch. But I don't think they're all bad. It's a shame that a few have to ruin it for the many who are decent.faceless wrote:One day I'll post my full experiences of Masonry. I might even write a book about it and get told to leave town by the police, again.
But I would read your book if you wrote one
