Dave The Cat Whiskers Away From Arrow Death June 24, 2009
A tabby cat has made an amazing recovery after a thug shot him with a crossbow. The 14in bolt entered Dave's neck and came out by his left elbow - missing his heart and lungs by millimetres. A vet told them that the blunt tip of the bolt meant the cat's organs were pushed out of the way, rather than being cut.
Dave the tabby was given up for dead by its owners after it went missing for eight days. Parents Andrew and Juliet Childerhouse's two daughters could not believe it when they saw him limping around the garden. They all rushed the injured feline to Mill House Veterinary Surgery in King's Lynn and the arrow was safely removed.
Dave is now on the mend, but the family are still upset that somebody was willing to attack their cat so viciously.
Well, I don't want to put a picture up of one of our cats - she was savaged by a fox (or two) last Tuesday. One hind leg was in a terrible looking state, you could see bone. A few days before the attack she caught a big wood pigeon so we reckon she's tried to get a fox cub from it's den and the parents have attacked. But, it's been a week now and she is jumping around like a lunatic again with no limp at all, she looks so funny with one leg completely shaved and the other half bald. The other cat isn't too pleased though as she's getting all the attention.
Oh by the way GET PET INSURANCE this little episode just cost £1300. Yes the cat IS worth it.
