As soon as the accident was reported the train company was saying it was there fault and that the driver ran the light. I don't think they would have come out with it so quickly if it weren't the case. They've put themselves right in the hot seat.
It came out that he was texting and that is what caused the accident. Terrible. His need to text message was more important than to pay attention to driving a massive locomotive and being in charge of the lives and well being of others. I can't even imagine what all the families are going through, the victims as well as the drivers.
People don't realize that it only takes a second to miss crucial information, whether it's driving a car or a train. I just can't understand why someone would be so careless with so many lives at stake. What a shame and a tragedy. :-(
