I wouldn't be so sure about that one faceless....the majority in Glasgow East was 13,507. I'm sure you know that the new SNP MP John Mason polled 11,277 votes, 365 more than Labour's Margaret Curran's 10,912.
I think that quite a few disillusioned voters will vote SNP again as so few Scots will vote Tory. I do agree with you totally that the campaigning will be a hair-pulling, eye-gouging feast of fun though.

anyway, here's the results from the last election. The SNP would need a 14% swing, so you could be right cobweb. It will be good to see what happens - if they do win it will be another big step towards a mandate for independence, so here's hoping.

My take on Glenrothes....a small mining village that was expanded under the New Towns act to provide housing for the super mine at Rothes which if memory serves me had to be closed almost as soon as it opened. This nearly stopped all development of the town but new developments and industry was brought in (latterly being the heart of the "silicon glen") . It has good points and bad....like most planned towns it suffers from a total lack of personality in places (think Milton Keynes - Cumbernauld) but a quick check should confirm from somone that there are no high rise tower blocks....there are some really nice areas like Balgeddie where a friend of mine once lived for a while.
