Condom truck tips, blocks 401

The rubber truly hit the road yesterday when two tractor-trailers collided on Highway 401 near Ingersoll.

One, carrying thousands of condoms, jackknifed and flipped onto its side, blocking east lanes and snarling traffic for hours.

The driver and passenger of that rig hauling 250 kilograms of prophylactics were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the other transport, which stayed upright, was unhurt, said OPP Const. Laurie Hawkins.

She said it wasn't clear what caused the crash, just after 2 p.m., near Oxford Road 6.

Preliminary investigation indicated the condom-filled truck was headed east behind the other rig when the first driver slammed on the brakes.

"We don't know what caused the first truck to brake," Hawkins said.

The driver of the condom truck also tried to brake, but swiped the back of the other rig, with the truck jackknifing and landing on its side.

"At one point, both trucks . . . were blocking all eastbound lanes," she said, adding one lane was later opened, allowing traffic to crawl past.

Airbags were placed under the condom truck to upright it

A guy on the radio today said that "Apparently the driver of the condom truck couldn't keep his truck erect.

You'd think these trucking companies would provide better protection against accidental spillage.

I always thought condoms were supposed to prevent accidents.

I hope the driver that caused this is going to get a stiff fine.

If the cartons had come open his load would have been all over the road.

I wonder how many drivers were swearing "Jizz-us Christ" as they were delayed?

...er that's enough condom jokes.
