Hmmm, there was no context to the song. She could easily have been singing it as an example of a stupid song. At no point is it clear she's singing it because she thinks it's a good song.
And considering most of her music business associates and historical musical influences are black people it would be pretty hard for her to be a racist.
She is a massive druggie though - she's so talented that she even fucks-up better than anyone else.

Amy Winehouse apologised today (June 9) for singing a racist slur-filled song, which was captured on video by her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
The singer reportedly told paparazzi outside her London home today that she was sorry, reports the Associated Press. She also denied that her singing of the song made her a racist. "I don't want to play anything down, but I'm the least racist person going," Winehouse said.
The video, which appears to have been filmed quite some time ago, appeared on The News Of The World this weekend. It also shows the singer in a drug den surrounded by drug-taking paraphernalia.

Well that explains that then! No wait, it doesn't...

7 days later....next headline......Perhaps the problem is not enough food intake and too much drug and alcohol intake. She needs help badly. That's a sign from her body that it's not doing well. She needs to take heed of that warning.

With any luck this will be the turning point for her... most people don't go that far even if they are strongly addicted - they usually end up in jail first because they can't afford it.

My grandma had emphysema, and I can only remember most my whole life is here struggling for breath and having phlegmy coughing fits. She'll lose her ability to sing if this is truly the case. She won't have the breath for it, even if she stays unaided with oxygen. My grandma never had oxygen, but she sounded like she sure needed it. Very weezy.
