Galloway grilled over 'attack'
By MIKE SULLIVAN[/align]
FIREBRAND MP George Galloway was quizzed by cops yesterday over claims he assaulted a protester. Respect party leader Mr Galloway, 53, was interviewed under caution, but not arrested. He attended Belgravia police station in Central London by prior appointment.
A heckler claims Mr Galloway shoved him in the chest during the May local elections campaign. Mr Galloway is said to have "flipped" as the Iraq War protester shouted: "I salute your indefatigability — you w****r." The MP — who notoriously hailed the "indefatigability" of Iraq dictator Saddam Hussein — is said to have been dragged away by aides.
The alleged victim, an office worker in his 20s, later reported the incident to cops, claiming he had been assaulted. Mr Galloway denies the claim.
