House Buyers get a shock

Corpse surprise for house hunters
Friday, February 8, 2008

British house hunters examining a prospective property found an unwelcome surprise in the main bedroom - the owner's body hanging from a belt in the walk-in cupboard. A an estate agent accompanying the prospective buyers quickly ushered them out after they came across the body on Sunday in a house in the village of Quorn, in central England, the real estate agency Hartleys said. 'It was quite a shock,' a spokesman for Hartleys understated. 'Our agent quickly ushered everyone out, locked the property and called the authorities.'

The agent also contacted the man's family. The house, which was for sale for about £350,000, was quickly taken off the market. Police confirmed that a man's body was discovered in the house, and that the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Talk about a shock indeed! I couldn't even imagine. I mean with house prices these days that's enough of a scare!

So the agents don't go into the house first to do a look through before selling it? I think if I were the prospective buyers I'd now be content to stay where I was.

I have a feeling they did have the house to go through before but you don't check it each time before a showing.
