Someone just told me that YouTube have totally closed down EvilGoblin's account. I wonder what's going on with that?!!

I realise the animosity and the background, but I would be sad if his account was closed. I wonder on what grounds .. if it was for popularity, then we are all losers (and possibly next in line).

Are all the videos deleted?

p.s. Irrespective of the friction, the primary aim is to provide as wide a range of material to the world .. and anything which disrupts it (especially censorship) is a step backwards.

What's wrong with having a wider agenda ? Isn't that the difference between capitalism ("I only care about my share price") versus socialism (looking at the wider good) ?

Who said this was about freedom of speech? It's about some guy who didn't have the sense or skill to make his own site or content who's been shut down.

on the subject of capitalism and socialism - I have given hundreds of hours of time to provide free high quality George Galloway content for the past 18 months or so. I do more than my 'bit' - which is why I'm defensive against pricks coming along to take the plaudits. I've said all this before though and I'm bored of it.

I agree faceless you have given a huge amount of your time to topics of wider interest (especially GG) and you keep the site open, and thus it is especially bad when people take the material without attribution.

For all that, you have my admiration.

[Though I would still like to know why YouTube shut him down .. in case it ever comes back to affect any of us]

I'd guess that he had one too many copyright notices. On my old account I got two chances, then the third time they shut me down.
