My husband's from Philly, and I call him a Yank - he doesn't seem to mind.IRiSHMaFIA wrote:Kezza wrote:IRiSHMaFIA wrote:As far as Nikki complaining about Richard and calling him a fat ox, she's the biggest gutwagon in the house and is constantly shovelling food down her throat so she's no room to talk! I haven't seen the stupid bitch for longer than 10 minutes without eating something, and Glynn was saying she hides food in the bedroom.
She also called him a yank and he's not. She's so stupid and ignorant she doesn't know the difference between a Canadian and an American.
Nikki's getting to be on my shit list too and I'm not finding her rudeness too funny anymore :grr:

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
[/rant]
First off..... the following is, just my humble opinion:
WTF!!! My radar went ballistic when I heard Nikki call Richard a "Yank"! Am I right in interpreting that as an *offensive* remark? The answer is "A Resounding YES!!!"
If Richard's from anywhere South of the Mason-Dixon Line, then he is, technically, NOT a "Yank."
Got to tell y'all: "Yank" is not a term that you would want to use in the American South (i.e., on your trip to Disney World). If Nikki were to visit the American South and address, say, "Billy-Bob-Wayne" (with the Confederate Flag and the Gun Rack on his Pick-up Truck) as a "YANK", she'd get her ass kicked, and deservedly so!!!!
OK, fair enough, "Billy-Bob-Wayne" is a stereotype.... but, the sentiment is still the same......"Yank" is an offensive name, and unless you, personally, are comfortable with being branded with less-than-attractive monikers, you should not address an American-born citizen as a Yank. JMHO.
Yankee-Doodle was a derogatory comment -- and its derivative, "Yank", is too. That brat Nikki deserves a swift kick in the arse for her abhorrent ignorance!!!
I encountered that ignorance whilst I lived in the U.K.: as an American-born descendant, I was called a "Colonist" by my boss.
First reaction? "Colonist? What F****ing* century are we living in, you arsehole? Remember the 'American Revoluton'? How 'bout the 'War of 1812'? And if I need to bring ya further up-to-date: how 'bout A Fish Called Wanda, where Kevin Kline's character posits the American position"? But, of course, I wasn't able to voice my true sentiments, since my boss spoke those words and I was in need of my paycheck. Wish I had won the Lottery and was able to tell him to f*** off!!! Anywhoooooo....
Moral of the story is, don't condemn/villify/admonish/admire/venerate/idolise/credit a person based on their country of birth......even if they are from North America.... it's too simplistic and boorish. Just give us a chance, eh? Can't we all just get along?
Awright face, my dear, go ahead and take yer whack
Actually I found it offensive because of the ignorance she's shown in not getting to know people or atleast listen to what they have to say. Richard is CANADIAN and not American and if she stopped stuffing her gob and whining for a sec she'd of heard him say that weeks ago.
If you go to the UK or Ireland you'll hear the term 'yank' used quite often and it's not meant to be derogatory, it's just the terminology used by quite a few people.

That pic is well done but still doesn't fully capture how bad she can be at times. That's more when she's eating politely lolAlly wrote:Now I see what you lot have been going on about with Nikki's chewing. :grr:
She's such a character!
Nikki & Grace
Anyone else appalled by Grace & Nikki's antics upon being nominated by Susie? How would they feel if someone went into their private belongings and stole something from them?
Their hypocrisy and bullying is so "Mean Girls", isn't it? If anything, I hope that both of them come out of this experience with a greater understanding of humility and kindness.
Grace should be forced to volunteer at a homeless shelter or a soup kitchen. No matter how much money her family has or how exclusive a school she attended, there is no excuse for being so vindictive, selfish and downright mean. She's only 20, so maybe there is hope for her yet.

Right after I posted this rant on Grace, I was in the chat room talking with faceless. Suddenly, a smell wafted upstairs. Come to find out that my German Shepherd had taken a dump in the living room. It was totally MY fault because I was ignoring my poor dog whilst "tripping on the Couch."
I wonder if that was Karma coming 'round to bite me in the arse?
Oy, what a day!!

I think Grace and Nikki acted brutally immature and downright nasty for going into Susies room and taking her champagne. She had no choice but to put them up, and after seeing Grace before coming in the house she'd of been out of her mind not to put the rubbish out as soon as she had the chance.
She knew Nikki wouldn't go because she's a good bit of popularity at the moment and was a safe bet to put up with Grace.
I believe once Grace leaves the house and finally pulls her head out her arse, she'll realise what a dirtbag she was. If she can stomach watching it, she'll realise pretty quick why the public went against her and that she was all the things she was accusing everyone else of being, and thats a 2 faced backstabbing scumbag.
I don't think it's a good idea to let her loose in a homeless shelter or soup kitchens. She'll have them all talking about each other within minutes and they'll be throwing soup and beating the bejesus out of each other
Morally I didn't like the girls knicking the champagne but at least they both did apologise to her in the end and own up to it. As a viewer, it was funny to watch them do something like that as if they were doing it in secret, when there are camera's all over the place! Of course they were going to get found out. But in the end Susie wasn't all that bothered and did accept their apology.
What about the rest of the house in her room all knicking the choccies? They were all in there scoffing downt he lot of goodies that Susie had in her golden basket. Although maybe she gave them permission and I missed that. They still all looked like greedy buggers.
The person I went off of last night was Richard and I was only just starting to like him again. In the diary room he said he wanted Nikki to go and that pissed me off because Grace is the one I think should go. lol Then when talking to Ash everytime she would say she felt guilty for talking behind people's back, Richard had an excuse.
Ash and Richard gossiping, isn't bitching, no it's them making observations. They aren't putting people down, no not them, they are just saying what they see to better understand. LMAO!! Get a grip.
Their bitching is no better than anyone elses and it's because there's nothing else to do in that house but talk or moan about people that get on your nerves or the lack of freedom and stuff they are forced to do. And they've all done it. Some of course are much worse than others and only a couple of them Pete and Glyn, seem to be above it for the most part.
I know Richard is a stirrer but he can also be someone that diffuses arguments. I'm not sure about him or when he is sincere or not...yet. What do you think?

Nikki quote from off the BB site.
Nikki thinks she's benefited from her time, whenever it comes, saying: "I actually think I could hold a job down now, because I'm used to being told what to do. I had no patience when I came in here, but I've learned to be tolerable." We think she meant tolerant, but it was true all the same.

LOL Nikkis quote cracks me up. She honestly couldn't hold down a job where she's being told what to do for too long.
She'd pull out the ole 'I WON'T DO IT! ' I WON'T F*CKING DO IT!' and actually that was so bloody funny I'd love to see that rerun again and again
I really don't think Richard is bad at all. He's done a lot to help ppl get on better in the house and try to mend fences with people.
Right now a few of them are wanting him out and spreading shite about him to each other to get the flow going to nominate him and he's done nothing at all to most of them doing this.
I'm not saying he's an angel because he's not, but he's not near as bad as the rest of them. They've all said a lot more and a lot worse than he ever has, and atleast he's honest enough to confront them face to face like he did with both Lea and Nikki to see what the problem was and to try and sort it out.
The rest of them don't bother doing that. They continue to stab and stab and smile in the persons face whilst doing so.
I hope he stays in past the majority of them with the last 4 being Pete, Glyn, Richard and Aish. That might change depending on Susie and how she acts. Actually it could all change because there's still a good bit of time to go and I'm sure someone else will be entering the house.
We'll see

I really respected Richard talking alone with Nikki regarding their rift. Although I do believe that RIchard was provoking Nikki during the whole "Isn't the 'State of Susie' Task FAB-u-lous??", at least he sat down with her face-to-face and spoke with her directly.Ally wrote:I know Richard is a stirrer but he can also be someone that diffuses arguments.
