BBC report does not report any civilian death (not even the claim of civilian death)
Is the BBC being fed scripts by the Israeli army which they run unaltered ?
More Biased BBC reporting ?

I'm entirely with you on this, Mandy. But even Al Jazeera failed to elaborate on this...
Anyone with a memory will recall why precisely this is so, that Israel conducted air strikes against vital infrastructure including the power station in Gaza. They have crippled Gaza's ability to generate their own electricity and are now threatening to deprive them of it entirely.Gaza is dependent on Israel for all of its fuel and about half its electricity.
just so much more thorough and so much more context than the bbc, which sounds entirely Israeli-centric. The most striking thing is I don't even think they realise they're doing it, its so internalised that Western powers and their allies are always in the right.
crucial context:
"homemade rockets"
"Israel responded [to Hamas' taking power in gaza] by largely closing off the territory and its 1.5 million people from the outside world."
"coalition of human rights groups that claims the policy constitutes collective punishment"
all absent from the bbc report, it doesn't hurt to add some crucial information to help anyone who doesn't understand the situation. Think of the impression the average reader would get from each report, its absurd.
Really good idea to compare identical incidents, thanks for that!!

Compare these two reports on the same incident :Salim201 wrote:Really good idea to compare identical incidents, thanks for that!!

"Israeli army kills Gaza militants"
versus
https://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/ ... 8536AE.htm
"Hamas fighters die in Israeli raid"
Why does the BBC call the killed "militants" ? Why isn't the title "Israeli militant army kill Palestinians trapped in Gaza " ?
Why no mention that Hamas is the elected government of Palestinians.

The mass media (and our shameless governments) paint Palestinian militancy as illegitimate and Israeli militancy as legitimate. I guess they hope the constant drone will convince the masses that our violence is noble, while theirs is abhorrent. It's a propaganda model that (sadly) often works.
On a side-note, is anyone familiar with the PRCS? They maintain a table of Palestinian casualties resulting from the Occupation going back to 2000. (https://www.palestinercs.org/modules/cja ... .php?id=15)
I noticed that it hasn't been updated since July. Does anybody have any idea why this might be? (I've just sent an e-mail to the webmaster to see if there is a more up-to-date table.)

On "propaganda model", I found the following article interesting :
https://www.medialens.org/about/overview ... _model.php
especially in light of my involvement with https://www.spiderednews.com where I sense all 5 filters .. and it isn't easy to get round them (e.g. funding issue)
I don't have any info on the PRCS, but I came across this site recently which is covering the ongoing gaza blockade : https://www.gcmhp.net/
