Stars selling fecking perfume
From what I've learned about the fashion/cosmetics/skincare/perfume industry, perfumes make the most money for a company. For example, Chanel is a famous design house, but the majority of their profits come from the fragrances. Another example: Estee Lauder is a well-known cosmetics company, but the majority of their profits ALSO come from selling perfumes/fragrances. Because it's very inexpensive to make and has a huge mark-up. That's why soooo many people are keen to market their own fragrance -- cold, hard cash!

It's all about the money and I'm ok with that. I'm a big girl and can make up my mind what I want to buy and why. If I want something because it's got someone's name on it (which I generally don't), then I'll buy it. It's my money to spend as I see fit.
And if I'm a celebrity and can market something and make money off of it, why not? Who are they hurting? Don't like it? Don't buy it? Personally if I were a celebrity, I'd be very selective about what I might endorse. But I can't blame a person for making a buck where there's a buck to be made.

But you don't and that's why we're herefaceless wrote:If I had that attitude this site would be full of idiots and I'd be making thousands a day.
All I'm saying is that some people are strictly in things for the money, and that's ok for them. It isn't for me, but I can't fault others for that when they're selling a non-essential product that people choose to buy.
I can ignore ads very easily and idiots are everywhere. I'm used to them. I tend to focus on the positive, especially when I do have friends around.faceless wrote:would you be here if the site was full of idiots and ads? I wouldn't.Skylace wrote: To each his own![]()
Sorry, it just doesn't bother me the same way it does you.
With this no. But there's stuff I've felt strongly about or felt a certain way that you didn't as well. I remember just recently, I think something about how you don't get bothered by people saying things that make it sound like all Scottish people but I do get frustrated with people making statements about Americans, basically stereotyping and painting with one brush drives me nuts. But that point didn't upset you. I said then it's just normal that some things get to one person while it doesn't bother the other and visa versa.faceless wrote:It seems we have no real understanding then.
There's nothing wrong with it. That's life. And as you can see here is one place where something gets to you, that honestly doesn't bother me.
So when it comes to this we can only agree to disagree.
