STATESVILLE, NC -- An employee at a North Carolina Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant fights for his life while being robbed and it's all caught on tape. A gunman tried to force the manager of this KFC in Statesville to open the safe.

The manager was hit over the head with the gun as he tried to get the safe open. But when the gunman pulled the trigger and the gun didn't go off, the manager decided to fight back.

He grabbed for the gun and he and the gunman went around and around in the kitchen area, both trying to gain control of the gun. The manager was finally able to force the man outside the restaurant.

Police dogs tracked him to a nearby cemetery, but couldn't find him. He is still on the loose.
______
The fight went on for 5 minutes! I saw the first part on the news this evening. You see him pull the trigger with it right by the guys head. I am just glad the gun misfired!

Some employees have been sacked for fighting back since corporate policy is to not resist.

Of-course an attempted shooting when the gun misfires means it can be seen as essential self-defence.

He did try to give it too him but he couldn't get the safe open and the guy said to him that he would give him one more spin and then shot. It didn't open and he pulled the trigger.

They could fire me and have a law suit for damn sure  He didn't fight back at first anyway. But someone has a gun to my head and it misfires I'm going to be opening a can of whoop ass myself.
