Torchwood

Post by Skylace »

I started watching Torchwood on BBCA. I've really enjoyed it
At first I thought it was a bit slow going and dull but I have really come to enjoy it.
It's not an amazing show but it's fun and entertaining.

My husband downloaded this for me ages ago (not sure where from!), and I agree with you, Sky - it was entertaining and fun but not wildly great. It does get a bit better as it goes along...and the characters are very likeable. I thought Cap'n Jack was easy on the eye...then found out the actor who plays him is gay in real-life....even his partner is pretty good-looking. Oh well, guess it's a good job I'm married then I don't pine too much!

 I thought the same thing Twirls. He does seem like a great guy from what I have read and I am so glad I am married and don't need to pine either!

I just checked the schedule on BBC Canada and we don't get it here :( Sounds interesting.... might see if I can download it somewhere. I love to have these types of shows to put on my iPod.

That would be great, Sky -- even if you could do one, I'd be able to see what it's all about.

I've still got the files. Is it easy to put them on Sendspace?

I'm not sure on that one Twirls..... Faceless is the expert there. Maybe he could give some input? I'm thinking that Sendspace might have a tutorial on uploading -- I'll check it out. Wish I could offer some BBC Canada stuff for upload but I only have PVR (kind of like TiVo) and to the best of my knowledge you can't transfer it to the computer :(

EEfan - I put the first episode up. It's in the Private Downloads section. If that works okay, I'll put the rest up, but I may be a bit slow. :D

Oh...had to put it on Megaupload as each file is over 300 MB (I had a word with Face!), so hopefully it works as well as Sendspace.

It's a corker of a show :)

I was hooked when I first grabbed them all when it first aired in the UK.

I (being a big DrWho fan) am so pleased that 2 spin offs from DrWho are doing well... both Torchwood & Sarah Jane Adventures have kept my family happy & waiting with baited breath for each new episode.

Did you know that Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who? There you go.

Well...

I saw the UK (BBC HiDef) post watershed version yesterday morning...
It's left me gagging for more.

This episode will be shown on BBC America on the 26th of Jan 2008, however, it's the watered down version shown earlier the othernight on the BBC & of course there will be even more edits to the show for the US market & have all the other bits edited to allow for the adverts too.

I will still watch the BBC-A airing however, as I'd like to see just how badly it's been cut up.

I'm not spoiling when I tell you this...
It's a heck of a lot better than the first batch of shows, better scripting, better acting & appears to be so much more polished, it's almost at the Dr Who standard of production now.
