Thanks Luke. I can't help looking for a "© Black Ops 2007" mark on the video, not least since the US says they believe the "producer" was a US citizen who fled to Pakistan.

Some parts of the speech (about the economy, mortgages, interest rates etc) are straight out of the left-of-center politics. Makes we wonder if this video is intended to frighten people away from left-of-center politics (so they don't sound like Bin Laden)

I've not looked at it that closely, but I reckon the only way to be certain would be to analyse the audio track and compare it with previous recordings that are known to be him. I'm moving this into conspiracies though as it has little to do with Galloway.

The 47-minute video has yet to be posted on extremist websites, but a copy was obtained by the monitoring group IntelCenter.

How does that work? If it wasn't released then they got it straight from the source - meaning they're in cahoots.

Yep. And we all know how big video files are. There is NO WAY you care going to tell me that the intelligence services know that a certain file will be uploaded shortly, but they can't trace where it is coming from .. especially a movie or even audio file.

Having a movie with video stills through most of it must be a terrible waste of bandwidth. Why not release the tape as audio and a few movie clips .. why the still images (which are "still" movies) unless to hammer home the "demon" of Osama ...

thats what i don't get, how have the americans got this video before it was released by the jihadi websites? i mean, if the american intelligence services have infiltrated al qaeda deeply enough to be able to get this video before release, it seems kinda stupid that they'd then do anything that would make al qaeda suspicious that they had been infiltrated or that someone was leaking information ... why would the americans risk their source to get the video out early?

al qaeda now know that somewhere theres a leak, from the filming of the video to its production etc - they know theres a leak somewhere along that line and they will try and plug it ... making it even harder for the americans to actually catch bin laden ...

i still haven't actually watched it yet, apparently he chats about chomsky!
