Man Charged With Assault for Throwing Cheetos at Dad
Tuesday, September 04, 2007

DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines man was charged with domestic assault Sunday after throwing a bag of Cheetos at his father.

Twenty-two-year-old Patrick Hamman was arrested after the bag of cheesy chips hit his father, Michael Hamman, in the face.

Police said the bag hit his father's glasses, causing a cut to the bridge of his nose.

The police report said — quote— "Michael's T-shirt was also covered in Cheeto dust."

Police said Patrick, who lives with his father, admitted that he was on methamphetamine at the time of the argument.

Oh, the humanity!

A box/palate of Cheetos would be assault. A bag? What if the bag was half empty? What if his dad had a glass of milk in hand?

It's amazing what you can get arrested for. Especially if they're members of the same family, surely that should be treated as a domestic argument rather than waste police time. Silliness!

meth addicts - gotta love them for the news of the stupid they provide us ...

So how big was this bag of cheetos? Was it the little single serve size? was it the king size? They better put warnings on the bags ...

What a waste of time. Let's not arrest him for the drugs, but lets bust him for throwing a bag of Cheetos at his poppie. Morons. I'd like to know just how they are going to make an example out of him...locked up for five years sounds good to me LOL

If somebody did that to me in the street, I'd want them locked up. I'm not joking.

This is a symptom of the break down in parental respect (for hitting your father) .. and also in parental caring (for wanting your child in prison or with a record to teach him a lesson)

It's a symptom of some people being idiots, including the police for even considering the case - if it gets to court then fuck them all, seriously. How does a case like this benefit the public? By preventing them from the risk of maize-based-snack fallout?

It is called following the letter of the law ... and the police being sued if they don't do their job.

In a fascist society, that's what happens

It's always the innocents that seem to suffer in these senseless crimes.
